Mosquito Squad and Homeowners
Mosquitoes carry disease that they can transfer to a human through a bite. Unfortunately, a person doesn't usually know he or she is being bitten until the damage has been done. Professional mosquito control services are a great idea for parents worried about their children spending time outside in the yard during the warm weather months. They want their children to enjoy the company of their friends and family without having to be concerned about mosquito bites and illness. Professional mosquito control services can give parents peace of mind about the safety of their children. Mosquito Squad is one example of a business that can be of help to parents and other homeowners in their fight against insect bites.
Sometimes a homeowner wants to host a special occasion in his or her backyard. For example, the child of the homeowner may be getting married and wants to hold her wedding reception in the backyard of her childhood home. The owner can help to protect guests from mosquito bites by calling in experts in the field of mosquito control services. The guests and the wedding party will enjoy the occasion all the more when they don't have to fight off the mosquitoes throughout the evening!
Finally, some homeowners are worried about the well-being of their pets. They understand that disease can be passed from mosquitoes to dogs, cats and other pets. Oftentimes, they seek the assistance of a professional mosquito control service to protect their pets while they are out exploring the backyard during the summer months. A dog is especially at risk for getting heart-worm via a mosquito bite. Heart-worm is a parasitic disease that can be dangerous to the health of a dog's lungs, heart and arteries. Protecting their pets is a high priority for many homeowners.

Fly Fishing at it's best
Fly fishing is almost an art form; you really need to know how to do it well if you are going to have success. At first, it is going to be hard, even if you go to this commercial fishing store and get all of the right gear. However, the following tips will help you get better at your craft so that you can start bringing in some true monsters. With dedication and enough hours on the river, you can become one of the best fishermen around. 1. Cast with a flick of your wrist, not by using your entire arm.2. Wear polarized sunglasses so that you can see the fish below the surface. 3. Cast upstream from the fish and let the line drift over them; you do not have to cast right on top of them. 4. Do not give up, even if you can see the fish and they are not taking your bait. You usually have to cast a few dozen times before anything will bite. 5. Let the fish run after you set the hook. If you try to fight it without giving ground, it is going to break the line. You have to let it run so that it gets tired, and then you can slowly start to bring it back in again. If you do all of these things, you should not have any problem fishing for trout, steelhead, salmon, or whatever other fish are in the river that is nearest to you

Caring for a Healthy and Happy Horse
Horses can be a fun family activity to enjoy on a hike, or just out sight seeing on the country side. With the right teaching to both horse and rider I believe it can be very therapeutic and relaxing. Horses not as much now and back in the day, were used as working tools. They are very strong animals and move heavy objects, and carry heavy loads. The bond between an owner and his horse sometimes can be as close a parent and a child.
Caring for the horse requires many different chores from feeding, washing, veterinary visits, and shoeing.Though these are not the only things that are required for taking care of a horse, these are among the most common and are usually required more often than other horse needs.
A horse must have a dry and comfortable stable to spend its nights. These structures have to be kept clean and well stocked with plenty of water and feed. Veterinary visits are an integral part of caring for your horse, though this type of care should only be done by a professional. Shoeing your horse helps keep your horse's hooves in good shape and promotes bone and ankle health. While shoeing basically requires only horseshoe nails and shoes, there are many different methods and practices to ensuring this is done properly.
When it comes to shoeing your horse, it is important to use the right equipment. The shoes and nails you use should be made for the type of work your horse is doing. Well established companies that supply these items should be used, such as the shoeing supplies sold by Anvil Brand.

Are the one person in the family that around the holidays that come to your house? I make holidays around here just to have the family and friends over. I enjoy having friends and family over and we have some sort of gathering at least once a month. During the spring and summer months it is usually nice enough that we can grill out and everyone spends the majority of their time outdoors. During the fall and especially the winter months it is just too cold for me, so we tend to gather inside.
While I enjoy family and friends gathering at my house, I have the dreaded housework that comes with it. We have the typical daily housework that we do but when we know someone is coming over I know I tend to try and make sure my house is in double duty clean condition. It doesn't matter if you just have the guys coming over for football or the family is coming over for Thanksgiving dinner, you want to house to look and smell nice. These are just a few areas most people don't think about on a normal routine cleaning that should really be done because your guests believe it or not, they notice when it is not done. City Life VS. Country Life
I have lived in the same yard from birth until now. Notice I didn't tell you how long but just my entire life. While it is not as country as I would like for it to be, it is still NOT the city life. I have family and friends alike who are always telling me that they had rather live in the city for different reasons and then I have to share my reasons of why I had much rather live here in the country.
So now I am going to share a few things with you, my readers of my perspective on the country life.
In the city you have all kinds of ordinances from noise to cutting your grass. I know here in NC they will fine you if you don't cut your grass, so even of you are on vacation you must keep your grass cut or have someone to cut it for you. In the city there is public transportation that helps for a lot of people and in some cases depending on where you live in the city, some places are within walking distance. When you rake your yards or have excessive yard waste, no problem, you just put it all on the curb and eventually the city will come by and pick it up.
These are all great reasons to live in the city, however I can't help but believe that there are just so many more reasons to live in the country.
In the country life on the weekend if I want to have a party, I just have it. There is no one around to hear the noise and complain. If someone gets a little excited and fires a shot gun, no problem, you just put it away for safe keeping, but you don't have to worry about the law showing up. If I go on vacation and miss a week of cutting my grass, no problem it is still there to be cut when I get home. I rake my leaves, and then I burn them. The fire acts as heat when we are all sitting around, and the smoke deters the bugs away. No we don't have any public transportation, and you can't walk to the Doctor's office, but we tend to enjoy the company of friends riding with us when we go into to town. Here are 2 videos that shows how I truly feel about the country life.
In the city you must keep your dogs chained, in the house, on a leash, or have a fenced in yard or animal control will fine you, and possible take your pets to doggy jail (AKA the pound). In the country I can let my puppies run free, have ducks, and enjoy the sound of a rooster in the early am.
To some this doesn't sound enjoyable but I would not have it any other way.
Do you prefer the city or the country life? Why?
Share a story, picture, or even a video of what makes where you stay the best.
I always enjoy reading my readers comments, what they think about my posts.
Can't forget about in the country going to find that local pond and fishing, even if it is just a little fish. It is much more about the time spent with your family, and friends than anything!

Iamsecond.com Review
As you may or may not know, I was married to a man that thought beating his wife was the way to keep her in line. Even if she done nothing wrong, there was no need in waiting for her to do so. You start the day off with a beating or tongue lashing and other abuse came as needed, or not. I don't tell you this for a sob story or as I like to call a pity party,, but just to tell you about an amazing website that caters to such stories as I have shared of myself. For myself and I can only imagine that it is the same for many people that have gone through some of the same struggles that I have, that it is not something that you want to open up and tell the world. At Iamsecond.com you can hear stories from everyday people such as myself, or from the big hip hop singers such as Lacrae. Lacrae fell victim to abuse but he never allowed it to take over his life. Him like so many others don't want to be a victim they want to be a survivor.
I am sure you are thinking this has nothing to do with you or things you have gone through in life. Here are just a few things in life that we all as humans have struggled with or will have a struggle with, that we too need someone there to help us. Some of the ones we may encounter are death, grief, anger, divorce, disabilities, purpose in life, war, and work. I am not saying that we will all encounter every struggle listed on the site but there are some that we all will in some point in our life. I would like to say that Success was one I had to deal with but I am not there yet.
Will you commit to be second, and put God first in your life? Be the First of your peers to show what God can do for you and your family in great times and in bad times. I often think of the song God on the Mountain. It says that the God on the mountains is still God in the valley, he is God in the good and the bad. How true that is, and how we should be putting him first in everything along with our family and letting ourselves come second. Then let's see how much fulfilling our life will be.

Nursing in Style
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Comfort and Harmony for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
When I was pregnant with my 3 babies the Doctors and Nurses were constantly telling the pros and cons of breastfeeding. One of the best pros were that the Mothers milk not only provides a healthier milk but it also is easier for the baby to digest. Besides the medical pros my favorite is the connection or bond that is between a Mother and her baby. Most Mothers have the same question and that is what if I work? They will give you alternatives for working Mothers that are still a great plus, it was for me.
The Mombo nursing pillow can be bought from Toys R Us or Babies R Us, at a really great price and you can purchase different pillow cover themes. Depending on your style or nursery theme they have everything from cartoon characters to the most sophisticated. To can also Like Comfort & Harmony on Facebook or Follow Comfort & Harmony on Twitter and get more information and deals.
The Mombo pillows are ergonomlc and make the perfect baby shower gift. Especially to a new Mommy. They are comfortable for both baby and Mom rather in the comfort of their home or in a public setting. The mombo nursing pillow allows for the closeness of the baby giving him or her the needed support and comfort needed to nurse. It is also great for toddlers in travel because of the way it wraps around the baby and keeps them from rolling over on to their stomachs. My daughter loved hers so much that she still uses hers today and she is almost 5, but she says it is like laying in the arms of Mommy. The Mombo pillows go from soft2firm and have a vibration mode, both of whicj assist in the relaxtion of the baby and made for comfort!
Maybe you are not wanting to breastfeed, I can't tell anyone what to do but I can say that the mombo nursing pillow is also goof just for helping you give the baby the support needed for holding, bonding, and spending quality time with. Because I was only able to nurse for a very short period, I used my pillow for playtime with my infants. I would lay the baby inside and she could lay there and look at her Mommy, however it is NOT recommended that you place the baby on any pillow and leave unattended or that you prop a bottle.
Go Like Comfort & Harmony on Facebook and Follow Comfort & Harmony on Twitter, and be one of the first to see what's new with Mombo.

Garden Inspirations
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Miracle-Gro for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
When you look around while walking through a neighborhood or driving down the road, do you ever notice the landscape and garden layouts of the other peoples yard? I do, and find so many things I would love to do in my yard. I also find lots of inspiration from magazines and photos. With the resources we have to day, you can find all kinds of inspirations from silly, to celebrity styles. I must say that I enjoy the country homey look much more than I do a complete clean look. Don't get me wrong, I like for it to be clean but I also enjoy the look of not being afraid I am going to mess something up and I like for it to be fun to look at. If I had the garden of my dreams I would have an interactive garden, with walk ways, benches, and fun things to look at. When I think of a perfect garden I am reminded of the Secret Garden, and think how awesome would that be. A place to go and get away from everything, to read a book, or just relax.
To get started with your great fun garden projects you first need the right materials to get started. I am a huge Hen and Bitty plant fan so that is the first step for m is to decide what flower or plant I want to use. Once you decide what plant you want to use then you can visit the Miracle-Gro Facebook page or Pinterest page and get some really great ideas on different projects that you and your family will enjoy doing together. The Gro Project offers many but my favorite for the hen and bittys is the toyrarium. For this project you will need to gather up your plants (cactus), Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix, small figurines, rocks (color or white) spoon, and a fish bowl or another glass bowl.
Once you have your material together you need to wash your container and allow it to dry, place your rocks and potting soil in the bottom, only fill about half way up, then mix your soil and rocks together. This will allow the water to drain and keep your cacti happy and healthy. Then you will arrange your plants and place your toys around the plants, And now you have a toyrarium that looks great in any room, especially in a child's room!
Check out this video and see what you come up with. It is the perfect time to get your hands dirty with Miracle-Gro and make not only your home but your yard beautiful!

Can't Wait Willow book Review & Giveaway Ends 5/26
My Thoughts:
This was one of the greatest books I have read in a while. It reminded me of Pinochio, and the way our childeren are today! You know with Pinochio he wanted to be a little boy, and his biggest downfall was that he told lies. This wasn't so much a story about lieing but things that he did instead of waiting like he should seem to get him in more trouble. The most prominent part of the book was about a little girl that wanted to go to the Circus but instead fo waiting until she got there had already spent her money that she had to get in and spend there. Once she arrived she was not only late but had no money. Think about it like this, If you give your child a chance to have one candy bar now or wait until tomorrow and they have five, most will choose to have the one today. That is where Willow was. She wanted the fun now rather than wait a few more minutes and in the end, did not get to do the one thing she wanted to do.
I was given the opportunity to not only receive a copy of this book for myself but also one for a lucky reader of Southern Mom of 4. All you have to do to win your free copy is follow the rafflecopter, and I will be drawing the winner on 5/26. Once I have the readers name, I will email them and they will have 48 hours to respond!

Mother's Day, How do you honor your Mother
Every year on the weekend of Mother's day we have a huge cook out. Since my birthday is May 17th and my baby sisters birthday is May 24 we kind of just roll the 3 into one. We all get together and spend Saturday with Mama, usually grilling chickens, with the fixins. I try to buy enough extra chicken and throw it on the grill so that on Sunday Mother's day we don't have to do any cooking. We just warm the left over chicken up after church and enjoy yet another meal for Mother's day.
My Mother means more to me now than she ever has in my life. Not just because I am 37 with kids of my own, but because I know what it is like to lose your Mother and not be able to call her when I need something, or just call her to tell her I love you! Let me explain, When I married the first time my husband Ex now, did everything he could to keep away from my family. It was really bad but got even worse once I got pregnant and had my son. My parents were not allowed to call or come see me and visa versa. For 3 years my Mother and my Father were basically dead to me or there was a possiablity that I would be dead, so I opted to not have anything to do with them. Thank God I realized what was going on before it was too late and got out of that situation. After I left my Ex-husband he kidnapped me, both my Mother and Father thought that they had lost their daughter. I was only 22 at the time with a 2 month old baby.
Most people lose their parents it is because of an argument, an abusive spouse, or death. I thank God everyday that mine was ab abusive spouse and that I have been given that second chance to have my parents back in my life. So to me Mother's day is not just in May but it is everyday of the year. I live next door to my Mother and I go see her at least once a day and call her many times. We have Family meals together often, usually on Sunday but sometimes any day of the week works for us. This way no one person has to cook the whole meal and we all work together to clean up afterwards. Plus I get to spend another day with my Mama. I dread the day we have to lay her to rest and I can not pick up the phone to call her and tell her that I just won something on the computer, or that I am sad and just need someone to talk to.
This is my Mother at a house in the Mountains of NC on Old Beach Mtn. She is trying to walk down the steep slope. Isn't she a beauty? |
How do you honor your Mother? Do you buy her a fancy gift or make her something from the heart? I usually try to get my Mother a rose bush rather than buy her a dozen of roses. This way she can enjoy the roses much longer each season and they come back every year. However, this year I got my Mother the craziest thing in the world for most people. I beleive that what ever I give someone it should be something that they can use, especially once you get to be a certain age and have everything you need and some. My Mother dont care for anymore knick knacks so I got her 2 bars of deoderant. She can use it and when done toss it in the trash. There is no waste and I know what I got her was not on needed but used and not boxed up somehwere.
I would love for my readers to share a story about your Mother, how do you celebrate Mother's day and honor her, or how does your Family make Mother's day special for you!

My Thoughts:
Without giving away the movie, I will tell you this. Every month our church (Rosewood Church Of God) picks a Friday night and we have a Family Movie Night. For the month of April our church chose to watch Ring The Bell. This was the PERFECT film to watch for both the young and the Young at Heart (that is what we like to call our elders in the church). The movie carried a lot of twists and turns so you may think you know what is about to happen and then Wham you are fooled again. It is the perfect movie for watching as a group, family, or the two of you!
Here is the cast from the film:
Ryan Scharoun - Rob Decker
Ashley Anderson McCarthy - Daisy
Casey Bond - Scooter
Trenell Mooring - Claire
Craig Stewart - Shawn
Chase Tramont - Coach Walker
Bob Caso - Peter
