American Sniper Review

From director Clint Eastwood comes “American Sniper,” starring Bradley Cooper as Chris Kyle, whose skills as a sniper made him a hero on the battlefield.

But there was much more to him than his skill as a sharpshooter.

Navy SEAL Chris Kyle is sent to Iraq with only one mission: to protect his brothers-in-arms. His pinpoint accuracy saves countless lives on the battlefield, and as stories of his courageous exploits spread, he earns the nickname “Legend.” However, his reputation is also growing behind enemy lines, putting a price on his head and making him a prime target of insurgents. He is also facing a different kind of battle on the home front: striving to be a good husband and father from halfway around the world.

Despite the danger, as well as the toll on his family at home, Chris serves through four harrowing tours of duty in Iraq, personifying the spirit of the SEAL creed to “leave no one behind.” But upon returning to his wife, Taya (Sienna Miller), and kids, Chris finds that it is the war he can’t leave behind.

My Thoughts:
First let me say that I am from an Air Force Town, we are the home of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and this past weekend we had two things going on.  One my birthday was Sunday and We had an air show featuring The Thunderbirds.  As you can imagine I spent my birthday weekend watching The American Sniper and watching the Air Show.  In the air show they do the Tora! Tora! Tora! and it is a reenactment of the Pearl Harbor bombing, if you ever get a chance to see an sir show they rock.  While it is very entertaining, it is also very educational on what happens when our men and women are in battle.  Just let me say that when the F-15 starting shooting bombs out over us it was very scary.

Now, I said all of that to tell you about this movie "The American Sniper".  Because I am NOT Military and I have never been put on the front lines I can only imagine what it is like to be there and see what these military men and women are going through and what they are thinking about.  While I was watching, I almost felt like I was there with Them and experiencing some of the same things they were.  Don't get me wrong, These young men and women rock in my book because they are doing something I was never willing to voluntarily sign up for myself.  Time Warner did a great job bringing the feeling of these men and especially bring Chris Kyle's story to life.

This is a great movie and really made me want to Thank every military person I meet, and this Film shows just how hard it is to decompress after coming home from any war.   We hear of Our Military suffering from PTSD after watching this it is much easier to understand.  Even though this is Hollywood I felt it was a great rendition of what really happens or happening in Iraq.

On May 19th you have your opportunity to buy your own copy of American Sniper on DVD, or if you are a fan of Southern Mom of 4 you have a chance of winning a copy today.  First like us on Facebook and leave a comment letting us know you did, Also leave a comment letting us know who your Military heroes are.  My Dad is definitely mine but I have a lot of Uncles, cousins, and grand parents that were Military and I have the up most respect for them.
