I have recently signed up for a FREE 14 day free trial on the K5 learning program online for my 2 girls. This program is designed for children form Pre-K through 5th grade in Math and Reading skills. It is really easy to sign up and there NO CREDIT CARD REQUIRED. I can't that about a lot of free trials but this one is in fact the case.
I not only set one child up on the FREE trial but I set my 8 year old which is in the 3rd grade and my 4 year old up on the pre-K program. If you have a child that is within the Pre-K or to the 5th grade you should really check out this web-site. They also test your child and do an assessment to see where your child is and what they need work on. I also think this is a great program for in the summer to keep your child up to speed on what they learned the previous year and could help accelerate them.
Since we have just started this program, I can only give you so much. So here is the deal. I am going to do this for a few weeks and I will be back to let you know how my daughters excel. It isn't fair for me, you, or anyone if I don't give you the full effect of the program. First impressions though is I love it. Can't wait to get back to you and let you know more.

My Thoughts
I watched this film with my son and I asked him, how would you explain this film to another person. Trying to get his perspective of the film, and he responds with "It is about this man, you just need to watch the movie". I laugh to think about him trying to tell me about this film. He is 14 but to ask him to tell you about something you would think he was much younger. For me this was great informative film and I really enjoyed it. I am not sure after allowing my 14 year old to watch with me that I would allow my younger girls to watch just yet. Although this is more of a family film it is not really targeted to the very young. I had questions while viewing this film and it brought to my attention that I needed to further study myself. Even after having these thoughts I really enjoyed the film and I believe it may have answered some questions for me.

This is the perfect meal for those Mothers and or Fathers that work and can't be home to cook a good home cooked meal. Put your meat in the Crock Pot, with the seasoning before you leave to go to work and when you get home, viola Supper is done! I made the beef stew and the pulled pork. Both are really great and you can add your own seasoning if you prefer.
I won't go back to cooking the other way anytime soon. This is just way too easy!

JT SplatMaster Review
With Christmas right around the corner I thought I would start looking around to find the MUST HAVES for Christmas 2012. The first item I found was The Sparkle Box book and it was a great book for any age. The next big and Fun item I found is the JT SplatMaster.

The JT SplatMaster to me was a mix of a paintball gun and kind of like a water ball gun. This is designed and marketed for children, I guess mainly boys, from ages 9 - 12, however I am 36 and female but I had a blast. I don't like the idea of paintball because, well it hurts. They leave huge bruises on you and you know you played for weeks on in. With the JT SplatMaster the paint ball's don't hurt, they bust much more like a water balloon, a plus for weaklings like me, lol.
I enjoy looking around for the newest toys coming out this year and thinking which one of my children would enjoy this one or maybe oh I would love this.
When we tried out the JT SplatMaster we included the entire family is the try out. All but the 4 year old enjoyed playing with ole JT, that is what we call it. She had a hard time with the pump and it is a little too big for her, however again I reiterate that this was designed for ages 9 and up. We got outside in the freezing cold to me and warmed up playing with this paintgun.
Is this the right toy for you and your family this year? That would depend on the age of your kids and their capabilities. I also feel that what a child is interested in is a major concern of interest. If a child doesn't enjoy the toy they will not play with it. For the most part I would say that for a boy once he is big enough to pump the handle and old enough to understand the rules of not shooting Mommy's house and car I would HIGHLY recommend. I even have to go over the rules with my hubby at times, so we can't expect much out of the kids.
For a limited time only, if you purchase a T SplatMaster Z100 or Z200 you will receive a pack of ammo for free. You can purchase these from Walmart. You can purchase anything from the guns, ammo, targets, or apparel. I am also understanding that some of the paint gun stores are also beginning to carry these cuties but I can not guarantee. They are also not available in Canada yet but they are hoping to get them there real soon.
